HOW DOES GRINDING WORK ON CONCRETE FLOORS?
Grinding is applied to concrete floor through a new technology called SUPERCONCRETE, which turns unpleasant, stained and dusty concrete floors in perfectly even, highly resistant, perfectly brilliant, aesthetically beautiful and easy to maintain surfaces. Thanks to this grinding system, results are surprising and more satisfying in terms of appearance and resistance, especially if compared to costly surfaces, such as marble.
The four-step grinding and polishing process on concrete floors.
1. GRINDING
The processing starts with two or three grinding steps on concrete floor. Special grinding machines work both on wet and dry methods. Their professional diamond discs erase uneveness, remove scratches, and any type of mark, especially tyre marks.
2. CONSOLIDATION
The second step is the so-called ‘consolidation’, where the absorption and consequent chemical reaction of lithium silicate densifier makes concrete harder. Considering the initial state of surfaces, this step is fundamental as flooring is brought back to life thanks to its improved characteristics in terms of resistance and durability.
3. POLISHING
Polishing is the third step. It consists of six progressive mechanical polishing steps. Each polishing step is made with resin bonded diamond discs, in progressive grit.
4. REFINISHING
The fourth and final step is refinishing. A water-based lithium solution is applied to the surface, sealing the concrete pore structure. A chemical reaction with the substrate results in a strong bond with the surface. Refinishing provides the flooring with higher gloss rate and brilliance.

What’s the final result of these four steps?
After the polishing processing, concrete floors turn perfectly even and non-slip, as friction rate is considerably improved. Similarly, the space is cleaner and the air quality is noticeably better, as well as the enhanced ambient light.
